ELIL believes that every refugee should be able to receive assistance from an independent, experienced lawyer. Of those we have assisted in Greece, 70.8% have been granted asylum, compared to an average of 30% nationally.

Since 2016, our operations have been supported, in person and remotely, by over 400 lawyers from 19 different European countries. Together, they have worked to ensure meaningful access to legal assistance for the tens of thousands of asylum seekers stranded in dire conditions.
